William H White Scholarship

As per Policy 4.8 (June 18, 1987) of Local 527 Policies and Procedures there shall be a  scholarship known as the William H White Scholarship. The Local may award two scholarships each year valued at $500.00.

The Executive Board shall be entrusted to review applications and set standards. The applicants must be a son or daughter of a Local 527 member to apply for this scholarship for the purpose of payment towards the tuition fee of his or her choice of College or University.

The applicant will be expected to include with application, proof of acceptance into College/University plus a one page essay on one of the following topics:

    1. Impact of the trade unions on modern day society.
    2. Future of the trade union movement.
    3. A similar subject of your choice.

Please note that all applications for the William H White Scholarship must be received at the Union office on or before April 30, 2009.

Applications are available for pick up at the Union hall.
